The Band, The Fabulous BelAirs...

Ken Kubiak

Picture
Born and raised in Montreal, Ken came from a family that was musically inclined and admiring his older sister’s vocal abilities, began singing at a very young age.

After gaining experience working with various bands and performing in feature acts, Ken formed The Fabulous BelAirs in 1986.  His enthusiasm is to keep the band authentic to original sounds of 50’s and 60’s Rock & Roll, keeping it fun for all the members, and in particular, putting on a show for the crowds to remember.  Ken also plays keyboard and guitar and views showmanship an important aspect of performing onstage.

Dave Gardiner

Picture
Dave in his own right is a true 50’s rocker and showman.  As an avid Chuck Berry admirer, he can perform the Duck Walk without missing a note which was the principal characteristic to him becoming a member of The Fabulous BelAirs.  Kidding aside, this feature was only an additional windfall as his portfolio includes studying Grade IV Royal Conservatory Piano and he plays guitar, bass, and vocals.  Dave has worked with various other bands throughout his career and when time permits, his other interests include old guitars, vintage cars, and although we don’t know the meaning of this one, has some sort of infatuation with hotel rooms.

Paul Gardiner

In keeping it in the family, Paul who is Dave’s younger brother also studied Grade IV Royal Conservatory Piano.  Paul not only plays keyboards, but his repertoire includes guitar, bass, and vocals and he became a member of The Fabulous BelAirs during it’s inception in 1986.   Although he is musically diverse, he can’t and doesn’t want to perform the Duck Walk but does maintain his devotion to the 50’s & 60’s Rock & Roll music era regardless.   Aside from his passion for music, his other interests include vintage cars, home renovations and technology.

Brian Healy

As the youngest member of the band, Brian's musical education began at the age of ten playing drums with School bands and later introduced to public performances, thus developing into a passion and the drive behind the band.  His portfolio includes group lessons for 6 years, teaching percussion, as well as a member of various bands throughout his career before landing with The Fabulous BelAirs in 1986.  His background also includes assisting backstage at local festivals and telethons and has performed in opening acts for feature venues.  In his spare time, Brian enjoys working at a local landscaping firm, spending time with his family, and exploring back roads contemplating life while riding his Harley.

James Murray

Picture
When James was eight, he received his first guitar.  At thirteen, he studied saxophone as a high school option and after finishing his formal education, took saxophone lessons privately with Ed Sossin (Humber College).  James later went on to teach saxophone himself and has been a member of various bands over his 30 years of performing.  During that time, he found a niche with The Fabulous BelAirs.  James has had the privilege of opening for top venue bands, performing backup musician for feature acts, and has been involved in numerous studio engagements throughout his career.   His musical tastes are diverse and musical abilities include playing sax, guitar, bass, vocals and songwriting.  James is a registered member of SOCAN and the AFM (Local 384), and published two original songs of his own entitled "When" and "Maggie Told Me".

The band’s dedication and high level of professionalism is portrayed throughout each performance.  Individually they are all great artists, and collectively they are a fabulous show!
